Academic Warning (AW)
An Academic Warning (AW) decision is applied when your Overall CGPA falls below the minimum academic standards required for Eligible to Continue (EC) in your degree program (or in Special Studies).
An Academic Warning (AW) decision is also applied if you are currently on Academic Warning (AW) and you have failed to meet the minimum academic standards required for Eligible to Continue (EC) in your program; however, your Term GPA* has met the academic standard to remain on Academic Warning (AW).
*Please visit 3.2.4.1 Term Grade Point Average in the Undergraduate Calendar for more information.
You are permitted to continue in your program, but Academic Warning also means that your academic performance is unsatisfactory at this time. You must achieve an Eligible to Continue (EC) decision at your next Academic Continuation Evaluation or, ensure your Term GPA* meets the minimum Overall CGPA required for Eligible to Continue (EC) in your program, to avoid being removed from your degree program (or from Special Studies).
For more information about CGPA requirements for Eligible to Continue (EC) status for degree students and Special Students, please see the links below to the Undergraduate Calendar.
If you are a degree student who has been placed on Academic Warning (AW), it is strongly recommended that you meet with an Academic Advisor at the Academic Advising Centre. It is very important that you understand the risks associated with Academic Warning (AW), and how the University’s rules and regulations can affect your studies.
Below you will find some important resources and information to assist you with your ongoing studies.

myAudit: Reading your Audit
It is important that you become familiar with your audit and review it on a regular basis. We encourage you to review your audit after every registration period to ensure that you are on track for graduation! The Academic Advising Centre has a ‘How to read your audit’ webpage that includes a ‘myAudit: Introduction’ video tutorial.
myAudit: Working with Planned Courses and What-If Audits
The online video tutorials will guide you through the process of running an audit with Planned Courses and/or a What-If audit for program changes. This tool allows you to see how Planned Courses would affect your academic requirements in your current or a potential new program.
ASR: Academic Status Report
The Academic Status Report (ASR) is a companion tool for the academic audit that displays real-time information regarding your degree program status in a user-friendly format. The ASR is designed to highlight common University graduation requirements and identify potential barriers or areas of concern.
