The Academic Advising Centre (AAC)

The Academic Advising Centre’s (AAC) primary focus is to support undergraduate and special students in achieving academic success. The AAC offers advising sessions for students who are experiencing academic difficulty, need assistance understanding their academic audit, want to ensure they are fulfilling their degree program’s academic requirements or have been placed on Academic Warning.

As Carleton University continues to follow our safe meetings and social distancing guidelines, the Academic Advising Centre has transitioned to providing services remotely during our regular business hours (8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday).  For the most up to date campus information, please visit Carleton’s COVID-19 information website.

The best way to connect with the Academic Advising Centre is by using our Academic Advising Request Form. You can also email us at academicadvising@carleton.ca from your CMAIL email account.  Don’t forget to include your student number.

We are currently experiencing a large influx of emails and phone requests therefore we are trying to advise students primarily via email. You should receive a reply to your inquiry within 5-7 business days.

The Academic Advising Centre is UNABLE to provide academic advising to students in the Bachelor of Engineering. For students within the Bachelor of Engineering seeking any type of academic advising, please contact:

If your questions are related to course selection, requesting a registration override, department specific restrictions or registration errors they will be forwarded to the appropriate Departmental Advisor. If your questions are related to navigating Carleton Central, how to add/drop a course, building a timetable or registration in general, they will be forwarded to the Registrar’s Office for review.
