SPPA Professor Jessica Parish has a new publication out in SAGE Journals:
Reinventing renting? ESG investing and the new landlordism of build-to-rent housing financialization.
The article examines how a UK pension-backed Build-to-Rent (BtR) provider positions itself as a socially and environmentally responsible alternative for renters and investors. By unpacking how ‘social value’ and ‘risk’ are constructed in this context, the piece highlights important challenges for housing justice in the age of ESG investing.
