But as Parish shows, BtR often reinforces familiar dynamics of landlordism, using risk profiling techniques that quietly reproduce classed and racialized exclusions.

By unpacking how ‘social value’ and ‘risk’ are constructed in this context, the piece highlights important challenges for housing justice in the age of ESG investing.
