Obed Asamoah
Postdoctoral Fellow
Dr. Obed Asamoah completed his PhD in Forest Science at the University of Eastern Finland, where his research explored the sustainable utilisation of forest resources. Dr. Asamoah’s work integrates field research, data modelling, and ecological assessments. Prior to his doctoral work, Dr. Asamoah earned an MSc in International Development Studies from Mendel University, Czech Republic, and a BSc in Natural Resources Management from the University for Development Studies, Ghana. These degrees laid a robust interdisciplinary foundation, enabling him to effectively link ecological sustainability with socioeconomic dynamics. Currently, Dr. Asamoah serves as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the School of Policy and Administration at Carleton University, with the Transformative Risk Assessment and Forest Resilience (TRIA-FoR) team. His work involves conducting economic and ecological trade-off analyses, stakeholder consultations, and fieldwork across Western Canada on Forest Resilience against Mountain Pine Beetle.
