Steve Orsini

Steve was appointed President and CEO of the Council of Ontario Universities in 2020. Steve has more than 30 years of experience in the Ontario Public Service, including Secretary of the Cabinet, Deputy Minister of Finance and Secretary of the Treasury Board, Deputy Minister of Revenue and Assistant Deputy Minister of Office of the Budget and Taxation. Steve has also held several senior positions at the Ontario Hospital Association, including Vice-President of Policy and Public Affairs.
Steve has a Bachelor of Applied Arts in Urban and Regional Planning and a Master’s in Environmental Studies. Steve is a Senior Fellow at the C.D. Howe Institute and member of the Canada West Foundation’s Intergovernmental Fiscal Relations Commission. Steve is a former Board Member of the Public Policy Forum and a Distinguished Fellow of the Munk School of Global Affairs and Public Policy at the University of Toronto.
