- In-person event
- 402, MacOdrum Library, Carleton University
- 1125 Colonel By Drive, Ottawa, ON, K1S 5B6
This foundational workshop introduces practical and responsible ways staff can use generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) tools, particularly Microsoft Copilot, to support everyday work. Participants will explore why GenAI matters in their roles, what is allowed and not allowed under Carleton’s Draft AI Framework, guidelines and policies, and how to apply basic prompting techniques to get more useful results from Copilot. Through small-group discussion and hands-on activities, staff will build confidence using GenAI appropriately while maintaining privacy, professional judgement and accountability. No prior experience with GenAI is required.
