FAQ
General Information
-
Towards Carleton@100 looks ahead to 2042, Carleton University’s 100th anniversary. A 15-year horizon gives us the space to think beyond immediate pressures, anticipate change and make ambitious, strategic choices that build on Carleton’s strengths and position the university for continued success.
-
The strategic visioning process combines evidence, broad community engagement and long-term thinking to explore the choices and opportunities that can strengthen Carleton’s future. It is grounded in Carleton’s values and relationships with its communities and Indigenous rights holders.
-
The draft strategic plan will be completed by March 2027 and shared with Senate and the Board of Governors in April 2027 for review and approval. For a detailed timeline, visit the Process webpage.
-
Announcements, updates and opportunities to participate in the Towards Carleton@100 process will be posted on the News and Updates webpage and shared through internal communication channels, including newsletters, emails and events.
-
The Towards Carleton@100 visioning process is organized around five strategic directions, each explored by a dedicated working group. They are:
- Student Experience
- Teaching and Learning
- Community Engagement and Partnerships
- Research and Scholarly Impact
- Institutional Health and Sustainability
Members were selected from more than 260 nominations submitted through an open process for Carleton students, faculty and staff. These groups are responsible for forward-looking, evidence-informed analysis and for identifying strategic directions that will guide the university’s direction towards 2032 and 2042.
Participation
