Professor Susanne Klausen won a Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) Insight Grant for her project entitled Forbidden Desire: Interracial Intimate Relationships in Apartheid South Africa, 1948-1985.
When learning her project had been selected for one of the prestigious grants, Prof. Klausen exclaimed that “I’m excited to receive this support so I can dedicate my research time fully to this project, and since I work in South Africa SSHRC support is crucial.”
SSHRC Insight Grants support research excellence in the social sciences and humanities. Funding is available to both emerging and established scholars for long-term research initiatives. The Insight program aims to support and foster excellence in social sciences and humanities research intended to deepen, widen and increase our collective understanding of individuals and societies, as well as to inform the search for solutions to societal challenges.
