Board of Governors
Welcome from the Chair

Welcome to the official webpage of the Carleton University Board of Governors.
It is a privilege to serve as Chair of the Board and to support a university commitment to academic excellence, research innovation, student success, and meaningful community impact. Carleton has a strong sense of purpose, and our people bring that purpose to life every day.
As universities navigate financial pressures, evolving student needs, and a rapidly changing post-secondary landscape, the Board remains committed to thoughtful governance, responsible stewardship, and long-term vision. Together with university leadership, we will continue to support decisions that strengthen Carleton’s future while remaining grounded in its mission, values and strategic priorities.
We believe Carleton’s future is about continuing to strengthen the qualities that define the university: its sense of community, research impact, culture of innovation, and commitment to making a positive difference.
The Board of Governors looks forward to working alongside the university leadership and the broader Carleton community in support of that vision.
Thank you for your interest in the work of the Board, and please feel free to connect with me at chairoftheboard@carleton.ca.
Sincerely,
Christina Tessier
