It’s been nearly two months since Brightspace launched at Carleton. All academic courses are now hosted in the new online learning platform.
Not sure where to begin with Brightspace? There are a variety of ways to get started:
- Sign up for the Online Learning Orientation to explore the new system while reviewing strategies to help you succeed in online courses.
- Visit the Teaching and Learning Services Mediaspace Channel for students to watch a virtual tour of the new system and short videos of common Brightspace activities, such as completing a quiz or using the discussion tool. More videos will be added in the coming weeks!
- Check out Carleton’s Brightspace Student Support website for helpful instructions for most course tasks and information about how to navigate the system.
- Visit the Discover tab in Brightspaceand self-enrol in the Brightspace Example Course to practice navigating the new system and see what a course can look like.
Access Your Courses
To access your Brightspace courses, log in at brightspace.carleton.ca using your MC1 credentials. If you have logged in to the system and do not see courses available to you, visit the Course Visibility in Brightspace page. If there is a Closed tag on your Brightspace course, that means that the course end date has passed, but you can still access course content and submit assignments and exams as usual. If you experience any difficulties entering your course or completing final assessments, contact your instructor for assistance.
The more you explore the new system, the more confident you’ll become. Take some time to get to know Brightspace and reach out to support if you get stuck!
