Jean Monnet Network Research Seminar: EU Trade Policy: Politicization at the limits of Trade Policy Theory
February 3, 2020 at 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM
|Location:||Room 3302 Richcraft Hall|
The Jean Monnet Network on EU-Canada Relations is pleased to host a research seminar “EU Trade Policy: Politicization at the limits of Trade Policy Theory” presented by Scott Hamilton with commentary offered by Dirk De Bièvre from the University of Antwerp.
The politicization of trans-Atlantic trade represents a theoretical challenge to standard policy frameworks. This presentation will confront the traditional sources of trade policy with globalization backlash, authority transfer, emotive framing and identity politics.
