Study – COOP 1000: Once admitted to the Co-op Program, students must complete and pass COOP 1000 (a mandatory online 0.0-credit course). Students will have access to this course a minimum of two terms before their first work term and will be notified via email when to register.

Study – Job Search: Students will conduct their job search in the term directly prior to their scheduled work term (e.g., for a summer work term, the job search will start at the beginning of the winter term). Job board access will open on the first day of the first month of the term (i.e., Fall = May 1, Winter = September 1, and Summer = January 1). Your Co-op Student Advisor will be in touch leading up to your job search.

Number of work terms to obtain the Co-op Designation: The majority of programs that offer Co-op require a minimum of three co-op work terms in order for students to obtain the Co-op Designation. Please note, however, that Engineering, Computer Science, and Mathematics students are required to complete four co-op work terms to obtain the Co-op Designation.

Optional Co-op Work Terms: Depending on the entry point, some students’ patterns may feature a fourth or fifth optional co-op work term. Students who pursue an optional work term will still be responsible for all Co-op deliverables (e.g., work term report, work term check-in, fees, etc.)
