Sustainable and Renewable Energy Engineering
Our world must adopt clean and renewable sources of energy such as wind, solar, geothermal, tidal, and biomass. Truly sustainable development, however, will require the clever integration of renewable energy technologies into existing infrastructure, along with vastly improved efficiencies in non-renewable energy use.
This new program provides analytical, technical and market skills for designing, building, operating, and enhancing sustainable energy systems that combine energy generation, its distribution and end use, in an environmentally responsible and economically beneficial manner.
Courses are offered in two main streams: Smart Technologies for Power Generation and Distribution; and Efficient Energy Generation and Conversion.
Career Options
Graduates are in great demand in all energy-intensive industries and related government agencies, including the power utilities (generating facilities, distribution networks, smart grids), the hybrid vehicle design industry, the manufacturers of materials and equipment for renewable energy projects, and the emerging service industries specializing in enhancing energy efficiency to name only a few.
