Due to Canadian forest fires, there could be low air quality in the Ottawa area as a result of high levels of air pollution.  Please observe special air quality statements issued by Environment Canada. It’s expected that these conditions could reoccur over the summer months.

People with lung disease (such as asthma) or heart disease, older adults, children, pregnant people, and people who work outdoors are at higher risk of experiencing health effects caused by wildfire smoke. On campus, all buildings and the tunnels are in compliance with the latest guidelines from ASHRAE for indoor air quality, which includes MERV 13 filters. These filters remove the particulates in the air but odours may still be noticeable.
