Asbestos Management
Carleton University is committed to maintaining a safe campus by managing asbestos-containing materials (ACM) in compliance with Ontario’s Occupational Health and Safety Act. This page provides employees, contractors, and the campus community with essential information on program requirements, training expectations, and nd safe work practices.
Before You Start Work
Before any project, maintenance, or task that may disturb building materials—including drilling or anchoring into walls, coring/cutting, cable routing, moving ceiling tiles, or accessing ceiling spaces—you must consult Carleton’s Asbestos-Containing Materials (ACM) Inventory for the specific room. Proceed only when the inventory has been verified and required controls are in place.
