A return to summer means peak season for thunderstorms and severe weather. When a storm is approaching, or a weather watch or warning is issued by Environment Canada, it’s important to seek shelter. If outdoors, relocate indoors to a safe, sheltered location. When indoors, the safest area to be is on the lowest level of the building within the most interior area. Stay away from windows, glass, as well as other hazards, such as fallen power lines and trees.
