Emergency Management – Emergency Awareness Training
Tuesday, June 28th, 2022 at 9:00 am to 10:30 am
- In-person event
- Carleton University, Carleton University, 1125 Colonel By Drive, Ottawa, ON, K1S 5B6
As an employee on campus, you may have some questions about what to do during an emergency situation. Do you know, for example, how to access emergency procedures for incidents such as earthquakes, suspicious packages, or flooding? Do you feel confident knowing where you can go for official information during an emergency situation? This session will help you answer those questions and more. Through this interactive workshop, you will have the opportunity to learn how to apply a situational awareness framework to determine a course of action in various types of emergencies.
Over the course of one and a half hours, you will have the chance to learn the following:
- Roles and expectations of individuals on campus, Campus Safety, and Carleton University during an emergency situation
- Official sources of information during an emergency
- Where and how to locate emergency protocols for different situations
- How to apply a situational awareness framework to novel situations to decide a course of action
This is an in-class session. The session location is TBD and will be communicated to participants prior to the training date.
