Business Continuity Basics Training Overview
Business Continuity is the creation of strategies through the recognition of threats and risks facing an organization, with a focus on resuming business operations in the event of a disaster or interruption in the most effective and efficient way. Through this Business Continuity Basics training, we seek to provide our community members with tools, as well as build up capacity and capabilities to enhance the ability to “bounce back” in the event of a disaster or disruption. This training will provide you with an understanding of how business continuity planning works at Carleton University. We will provide you with a more in-depth understanding of:
- Carleton’s Business Continuity and Resilience Framework
- Departmental Business Continuity and Resilience Plans
- Plan Activation

Who Should Take This Training?
This training is recommended for:
- Staff or Faculty with a Departmental EMCO Team Role
- Staff or Faculty with an Emergency Management Team Role
- Staff or Faculty interested in learning more about being prepared for emergencies and disruptions
It is recommended to take the Business Continuity Overview training on Brightspace prior to this course if you are new to Business Continuity or need a refresher.
