David Falconer, professor emeritus, Department of Systems and Computer Engineering, has been appointed a Fellow of the Wireless World Research Forum (WWRF). The official award ceremony will take place in 2014.
“I am happy to join this a group of fellows that have contributed to wireless communications or to the WWRF organization,” said Falconer. “The role is to provide advice about the future of the organization in terms of wireless trends and developments. Carleton has a long history with the WWRF. It was the first North American university to join the organization and activities between Carleton faculty and the organization continue to this day.”
The WWRF Fellows Scheme was established to recognize and honour outstanding individuals for their significant accomplishments in the advancement or application of mobile and wireless technology and for their contributions to the mission of the WWRF. The organization looks to the Fellows for guidance as the world of mobile and wireless technology continues to evolve.
