Description

In this Industry Talk, you will hear from Meaghan Reeve, Irena E. Fürhoff, and Stella Filippatos about what skills and tools engineering and information technology graduates should know when entering the workforce. You will also hear about CAE’s tangible commitments to supporting women in STEM.

This event will be held online via Zoom. An Uber Eats gift card will be given to attendees post-event.


Who can attend the event?

We encourage women from all backgrounds and identities to join this event, especially women students in a Carleton University Bachelor, Master’s or Doctoral program, of: engineering, IT, applied science, computer science, mathematics, or physics. Speakers

Stella Filippatos, Director Programs

Stella holds a Master’s of Applied Science in Electrical Engineering and an MBA. Over her 16 years+ career, she has been recognized for her ability to lead technical and strategic teams and has acquired a wide experience in product management, marketing, engineering product development and supplier management in the high tech, aerospace and space technology sectors. She is currently the Director Programs for the electrical aircraft development program at CAE.


Irena E. Fürhoff, Project Manager – Government Research & Development Programs

Irena is an experienced Project Manager for Government Programs and University Relations at CAE Inc and has managed many Government R&D programs for 15+ years. With a keen interest in emerging, and green technologies she has a in-depths knowledge of the pilot training business. With her expertise in software and hardware products in Aerospace & Defence and Healthcare, she manages large-scale, complex R&D Government Programs and is a true life-long learner and seeker. She graduated with a PhD in German Literature from McGill University.


Meaghan Reeve, Senior Manager

Meaghan holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Materials Engineering as well as a Master of Applied Science in Computational Material.  She is currently Senior Manager at CAE in Hardware Engineering with seven years experience in aerospace engineering. She has two and a half years in a leadership role coaching and guiding a team of seven leaders and a department of 150 multi-disciplinary engineers and analysts designing, customizing, and managing the development of cost-effective hardware engineering solutions.
