Josephine B. Etowa

Professor Josephine B. Etowa is a professor at the School of Nursing, Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Ottawa. She holds nursing degrees from Dalhousie University and a PhD in nursing from the University of Calgary. With over 23 years of clinical experience, her research relies on qualitative, participatory and mixed research methods to focus on health inequities and maternal–newborn health. Professor Etowa has led numerous funded research projects at the local, national and international levels and has worked as a nurse, midwife, researcher and educator across Canada’s health care system.
