Carleton EngFrosh Fall Orientation Programming Schedule
We are looking forward to hosting Ravens for an exciting week of programming. EngFrosh Programming is for incoming students from the Faculty of Engineering and Design. Participants will be invited to events that are specially cultivated for engineering and design students while also participating in Central Orientation events that are open to ALL Fall Orientation participants.

Opening Ceremonies
6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
Description: Meet your team leaders and volunteers. Get a rundown of the week’s schedule. Participants will see a presentation from the EngFrosh planning committee which will get you ready for the week ahead. While the ceremonies will officially start at 6:30 p.m. participants are invited to begin arriving at 5:00 p.m. to meet and hang out with their teams.

Glow Dance Party
10:00 p.m. – 12:00 a.m.
Description: Light it up! Hit the dance floor to some of the top songs of summer along with your favourite throwback jams. This event is in each program’s schedule, making it the perfect opportunity to meet fellow Ravens of all programs and faculties! *Please note no bags will be permittedPlease Note: This is alternative programming that EngFrosh participants are invited to enjoy; however, EngFrosh leaders/volunteers may not be present for this event specifically.

Beach Day!
6:45 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
Description: EngFrosh takes their activities to the beach. Join your teammates for a day full of outdoor activities and challenges with Wildness Tours. Participants have the opportunity to enjoy whitewater rafting (advance registration with additional payment required). Lunch will be provided on site. Check out what’s in store for you here!Be sure to wear/bring a bathing suit if you plan on going in the water or if you have purchased the whitewater rafting add-on. Rafters will also need shoes that can go in the water / get wet. You will also want to make sure you have sunscreen and stay hydrated throughout the day.
Location: Wilderness Tours (Off-Campus); Buses depart from Campus at 7:00 a.m.
Dinner in Leonardo’s Lounge!
6:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.
Description: Participants will get a chance to sample some delicious sandwiches while being introduced to Leonardo’s Lounge, a special social lounge and convenience store for FED students brought to you by the Carleton Student Engineering Society.
Location: 3rd Floor Mackenzie Building
CU at Night!
8:30 p.m. – 11:30 p.m.
Description: It’s been a loooong day, Ravens, but we’re not done yet! Join your fellow students for VERY varied programming throughout Nideyinàn and Tory Building. Choose your own adventure, Ravens!
More details of individual activities will be posted later, but be prepared for Bingo, Paint Night, Silent Disco, and more!

Description: Held in conjunction with CU at Night and hosted by our good friends at CUSA! Academic Orientation Day
7:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Description: There’s a lot to do this week. Between finding out where your classes are, meeting your Fall Orientation group and learning all about university life, things can get a little crazy! Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered. Academic Orientation Day is designed to make sure that you know everything about your Faculty and Department here at Carleton. You’ll receive a faculty specific t-shirt, get to meet your classmates and professors, and find out more about your degree. This is a fun day packed full of information to help you to start your program off on the right foot!More information about Academic Orientation Day is available on its dedicated website.

FEDFair & Expo Carleton
12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Description: Want to get involved in the Carleton community but don’t know where to start? Want to know what the Carleton campus has to offer you? This is the event for you! FEDFair and Expo Carleton showcases all the Carleton clubs, societies and services and gives you the opportunity to walk around for the ones that fit your taste buds. Getting involved during your first year can make the transition to university life much smoother.
Location: Athletics Facilities*Please note that FEDFair and Expo Carleton runs from 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m; students are encouraged to attend once they have completed Academic Orientation Day programming and lunch.
EngClue
6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
Description: Can you figure out who is the guilty culprit? EngFrosh teams will be working together in the dramatized version of CLUE to find out “who-dun-it”.
Location: 2000 Minto Centre (Event takes place throughout Mackenzie Building)
Movie Under the Stars
9:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.
Description: Join us for a throwback flick, popcorn and candy outdoors under the stars. Bring a comfortable blanket so you can sit down and enjoy the show. (Movie to be announced later)

5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.
Description: Take a tour and learn all about Ottawa’s hot spots. Participants will hit the road and explore Ottawa on a chartered bus while seeing all the attractions that our great city has to offer.
Location: Teams meet at Mackenzie Quad. Buses will depart from and return to Carleton University Parking Lot #7.)
Athletics Night!
6:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.
Description: Check out our sports facilities and play few games while you’re at it! We will have an assortment of options taking place throughout the night including soccer, swimming, glow yoga, fitness class, wheelchair basketball, and our legendary giant game of musical chairs. (full lineup to be posted in August)

Speed Mingling with RRRA!
6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Description: A fun way to meet and interact with other new students. Our friends at RRRA will be hosting a Speed Mingling event with built-in icebreakers to help you get to know your fellow Ravens.

Heads Idol

Description: Watch your team’s Heads display their musical talent, or lack thereof, at one of EngFrosh’s greatest traditions.

Description: Participate in Shinerama by spreading awareness & fundraising in support of Cystic Fibrosis Canada! An annual fundraiser that is near and dear to Ravens; drop by the Tory Building, make a donation and win some prizes!

EngLAN
6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Description: A chill nite of games, including board and video games. Participants will be able to use EngFrosh-provided games or are optionally welcome to bing their own laptops or board games if they would like.

CU at the Closeout Concert!
8:00 p.m. (doors at 7:00 p.m.)We will be announcing our 2024 Fall Orientation Close Out Concert later in August. This concert is exclusive to Fall Orientation and Upper Year Orientation participants, attendees will need to show your wristband to get in.
Must wear your orientation bracelet, no bags, no food or beverages.

MarketSCOTT and “Stream Lunch”
9:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Description: Checkout downtown Ottawa with activities around Major Hills Park and the historic ByWard Market, while also completing day-long Spirit Challenges. Lunch will be provided and participants will have the chance to sit down wit other students and volunteers in their program to get to know them, discuss academics, and receive advice from upper-year Ravens.
Location: Downtown Ottawa, various locations (off-campus)
Overnight Raft Design Competition
7:00 p.m. – 5:00 a.m.
Description: Get ready for some splash-tactic fun! Join your team in an overnight design competition where teams will spend the evening (and into the morning) building a water-ready raft to compete in the EgnFrosh Raft Races the following morning with the provided supplies. Teams will also present their Spirit Challenge submission to Spirit.

Raft Racing
8:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
Description: The highlight of the week! Team will get in the rafts they designed and built the night before and race them in the pool. Will your raft be the fastest? Will your raft sink? Be there to cheer on your team and join in on the excitement.
Location: Carleton University Pool
Closing Ceremonies
12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Description: Officially wrap up the week with your team and find out the winners of EngFrosh 2024!
Location: Alumni Park (outdoors)
- Weeklong Events

Scavenger Hunt
Description: Teams compete in a weeklong scavenger hunt where participants decode clues and race to the locations across campus and throughout Ottawa. Strict rules are enforced; no scav activities interfere with classes or academics.
EngFrosh Tradeup
Description: Each team will receive a small trinket, and will work through the week to trade that trinket to get the most valuable item possible. You never know when a paper clip can become a piano!
EngFrosh Cup
Description: A weeklong tournament where teams battled at Foosball to capture the table. The victorious team hides the table in a new location on campus but must stay prepare to defend agains the next challenger.
Spirit Challenges
Description: Each of the five EngFrosh Spirit have a challenge for participants. The teams have all week to prepare and present the answers during the Raft Building night.
