Dr. Craig Bennell Awarded SSHRC Partnership Engage Grant
Congratulations to Dr. Craig Bennell (Psychology), who was awarded a Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council Partnership Engage Grant in the December 2024 competition! The project, “Understanding Mental Health Challenges and Opportunities in Context: A Partnership Project with a Small Canadian Police Service,” will be conducted in partnership with South Simcoe Police Service (SSPS). Bennell will assess the state of mental health wellness among police and civilian staff to develop an evidence-based mental health toolkit that targets the key stressors they experience and considers the identified facilitators and barriers to care.
The SSHRC Partnership Engage Grant provides short-term and timely support for partnered research activities that will inform decision-making at a single partner organization from the public, private or not-for-profit sector.
