MA thesis title: “Supporting Immigrant Women Survivors of Intimate Partner & Domestic Violence: Recommendations for Canadian Service Providers.”
Description: “I wish to understand and examine the multiple and intersecting structural barriers that may affect the quality of intimate partner violence/domestic violence services offered to survivors living under temporary immigration status in Canada. In Canada, women fleeing violence must navigate multiple systems like the family court, criminal justice, and the Ministry of Child & Family Development, government and community systems pertaining to financial assistance, housing, and mental health services. In addition to all this, immigrant women under temporary status must also navigate the immigration system to secure health care, income, and other rights without sponsorship support. I will investigate experiences and challenges of formal intimate partner violence/domestic violence service providers when serving immigrant women in Ontario and British Columbia, Canada..”
