Congratulations to Ben Schellenberg and Joey Slinger on their 2025 CUROP Internships!
Carleton University’s Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences proudly recognized several students yesterday for their achievements in the 2025 Carleton University Research Opportunity Program (CUROP). Two of these outstanding students are from the Department of Geography and Environmental Studies (DGES).
Joey Slinger, an Environmental and Climate Change Studies student, conducted his CUROP research under Dr. Patricia Ballamingie. His project, Design and Implementation of an Academic Seed Library, focused on sustainability and community engagement through seed sharing initiatives.
Ben Schellenberg, a Geomatics student, was awarded a CUROP internship under the supervision of Dr. Murray Richardson. His research project, Remote Sensing Techniques for Identifying Acid Rock Drainage, explored innovative methods for environmental monitoring using geospatial technologies.
