Joshua Steckley Receives Prestigious SSHRC Impact Talent Award

Joshua Steckley, a Banting postdoctoral fellow since 2024, has received the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) Impact Talent Award, which recognizes outstanding research achievement and career potential from a SSHRC doctoral or postdoctoral fellowship or scholarship holder.
During his fellowship, Steckley is exploring the relationship between capitalism and nature. He examines how nature is increasingly reorganized to maximize profit while exploring alternative models that promote democratic and environmentally sustainable agriculture.
Professor Steckley teaches Health, Environment and Society in the Department of Geography and Environmental Studies at Carleton and holds a PhD in Geography from the University of Toronto. Congratulations Professor Joshua Steckley on receiving this award!
