Congratulations to Professor Patricia Ballamingie on being named the recipient of the 2026–2027 Marson LaFrance Research Fellowship. The award winners were announced and celebrated during the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS) annual vin d’honneur, held on Thursday, March 26, at the Carleton University Art Gallery.

Professor Ballamingie is a Professor in Geography and Environmental Studies, cross-appointed with the Institute of Political Economy at Carleton University. Her interdisciplinary research focuses on food policy and food systems governance, with a strong emphasis on community-engaged scholarship, environmental democracy, and building just and sustainable food systems in Canada. She is recognized for her long-standing partnerships with community organizations and her leadership in participatory, action-oriented research.

The Marson LaFrance Research Fellowship recognizes outstanding research achievement and impact within FASS. This award highlights Professor Ballamingie’s significant contributions to scholarship, community engagement, and social change.
