Vladimir Diaz-Cuellar
I am a PhD candidate, originally from Bolivia, working under the supervision of Karen Hébert and Peter Gose. My research aims at analyzing the recent process of expansion and generalization of capitalism in Bolivia, and its relationship with greenhouse gas emissions and deforestation in the country in the context of the Anthropocene. My inquiry takes place at the intersections of the natural and social sciences.
I studied both Sociology and Law at the Mayor de San Andrés State University in Bolivia and earned an MA in Political Economy at Carleton University. My research previously focused on extractive industries, in particular, mining in Bolivia.
