Personal finance is as a major topic of interest for International Students and their accompanying family members in Canada. In collaboration with International Student Connect and CCI Ottawa, the ISSO is offering an information session that will provide general information regarding personal finances and money including personal budgeting, saving, credit and credit history, employment, tax advantages, investments, social security, insurances, debt and more. The session will discuss the following aspects of personal finances and money matters.

• Defining personal finance: what does personal finance include?
• Credit and credit history in Canada. Why is good credit important?
• Who can see your credit report? Who has the right to check your credit history?
• What do you do if you find yourself in financial trouble?
• Budgeting tips
• Money Management Quiz
