Income Tax for International Students

The Catholic Center for Immigrants in partnership with the Global Opportunities and International Student Services Office of Carleton University will deliver an interactive information session on Income Tax and International Students.

This information is for International Students and their accompanying spouses (if applicable). This session aims at providing international students with general information regarding the Canadian tax system such as: why Canadians all residents in Canada pay taxes; the types of taxes that are collected and how they are calculated; the government’s role; who has to pay taxes and most importantly benefits of tax declaration.

International Students and their accompanying dependents are considered residents for tax purposes. There many benefits to declaring your taxes, to know more, to stay informed and benefits from declaring your taxes, you are invited to attend this important information session that will discuss the following topics:
