Making Friends In Canada (In-Person Workshop)
Wednesday, March 30, 2022 from 2:30 pm to 4:00 pm
- In-person event
Attend our online session on March 23!
As we return to more in-person interactions on campus, many of us are looking to meet new friends and build community. After two years of remote learning, making new friends may feel uncomfortable – but the International Student Services Office (ISSO) and Health and Counselling Services (HCS) are here to help!
Join the ISSO and HCS for the ‘Making Friends in Canada’ workshop. In this 90-minute, in-person session, students will:
- Recognize how culture impacts our beliefs and behaviours when making friends
- Explore 3 main stages of meaningful conversations
- Identify key campus events and everyday opportunities for starting meaningful conversations
- Practice skills in a safe environment through one-on-one role playing and scenarios
Please note, registration is limited to 16 students due to room capacity. The event location will be sent to registrants the week of the event. Register below to join us or join our waitlist by emailing Niamh O’Shea, International Student Support Coordinator, at Niamh.oshea@carleton.ca.
