Student Testimonials
-
“I did have a main touch point, and that was the exchange office/international office. This office helped me with everything from registering with the city to choosing an insurance provider. They were very helpful and had answers for everything, even when I was having trouble with my resident permit.” – Full Year 2024/2025, Bachelor of International Business

“Finding the courses was pretty simple, as the university provided us with a list of courses taught in English and what prerequisites had to be completed prior. The academic life is very different from back home. To start, the grading system is completely different; you are graded from 1 (being the best) to 5 (being the worst). A lot of my courses only had finals, no assignments, or midterms. This was a plus as it gave me more time to prepare instead of focusing on a lot of different assignments at once.” – Full Year 2024/2025, Bachelor of International Business

“I lived in a dorm with 6 other people. It was ok, I had my private room; however, the kitchen and bathrooms were shared. This was a first-time experience for me, as it was my first time living alone. When I was doing my exchange application with my host uni, they had a box I could check if I was interested in any accommodation, and I checked “yes” because I heard that international students had a priority for housing.” – Full Year 2024/2025, Bachelor of International Business

“I had to legally set up a blocked bank account to show the German government proof of funds. Once that was set up, I opened an online bank account called N26 as they had no fees for transfers and transactions. I also mainly used my Canadian bank account as I could withdraw money and pay without any problems. As for the cell phone, what I did was buy prepaid packages with a provider that had to be reactivated every month.” – Full Year 2024/2025, Bachelor of International Business

“I would recommend traveling seasonally (if that makes sense), go to a warm place when it’s warm, and a cold place in the winter. I spent 7 days in Switzerland with my friends, and it was like a true winter wonderland. When summer came, we spent 4 days in Greece, and the weather was perfect. I would also recommend not having a set checklist when traveling, surely go see all the touristy places, but I enjoy getting lost in the streets of Amsterdam or Copenhagen.” – Full Year 2024/2025, Bachelor of International Business
