The GO-ISSO recommends you complete the Study Permit Secrets course before or during your first semester as a Carleton University student, to help you understand and comply with your responsibilities as a study permit holder.

Study Permit Secrets is an online course that assists international students in learning four (4) main principles for study permit compliance:
- Understanding what a study permit is
- Learning to read key information on your study permit
- Knowing the conditions of study permit holder status
- Understanding when, where, and how much you may work in Canada
This course takes approximately 35-40 minutes to complete and will save you countless hours in personal research!
