Over the next few days, April 15-18, 2015, the National Council on Public History will be holding its annual meeting, this year, in Nashville, Tennessee. Bringing together over 800 Public History practitioners from more than 10 countries, including Canada, the United States, Italy, Columbia, Germany and the UK amongst others, the NCPH annual meeting is the premier event for Public History. It’s an opportunity to share ideas, examine Public History initiatives, discuss new approaches and connect with like-minded historians passionate about the field (and, as while in Nashville, take in some excellent country music!).
The Carleton Centre for Public History will once again be represented at the NCPH as Professors David Dean (@DavidDean2010), Jennifer Evans (@JenniferVEvans), and doctoral candidate Meghan Lundrigan (@megainer), as well as recent graduate and now Phd candidate at UMass Erica Fagen (@erfagen) will all be attending and participating in a session on Thursday morning, entitled “Selfies, Tweets, and Likes: Social Media and its Role in Historical Memory.” Also participating will be Jean-Pierre Morin (@jp5morin), Public Servant in Residence (and upcoming visiting professor in the History Department) and member of the NCPH Board of Directors.
