All employees are paid by direct deposit into one, two, or three Canadian bank account(s):

Note: Carleton University policy states that all employees by direct deposits to a Canadian bank account. We are unable to deposit pay into an international bank account.

Number of accounts Order in which pay is deposited Note:
One bank account
  1. Your entire pay is deposited into your account
Two bank accounts
  1. Up to a specified dollar amount is deposited into the first account
  2. Any remaining amount is deposited into the second account
  • You can change the dollar amount at any time
  • If the total amount to be deposited is less than the specified amount for the first account, the entire amount will be deposited in that account
Three bank accounts
  1. As per your request, up to a specified dollar amount is deposited into the first account
  2. Up to a specified dollar amount is deposited into the second account
  3. Any remaining amount is deposited into the third account
  • You can change the dollar amount for the first or second account at any time
  • If the total amount to be deposited is less than the specified amount for the first account, the entire amount will be deposited in the first account
  • If the total amount to be deposited is more than the specified amount for the first account and less than the specified amount for the second account, the amount specified will be deposited into the first account and the remaining amount will be deposited into the second account

Updating your banking information

NOTE: Due to COVID-19, we are not accepting in-person drop offs of banking information.

To change your direct deposit information, please email the banking documents listed below to payroll@carleton.ca. This must be done using your Carleton email account.

  • A void cheque or a Direct Deposit Authorization Form (available from your bank)
  • Photo ID (examples: Driver’s License, Passport, Campus Card)
  • Your completed Banking Change Request Form
