Hear about what the Hub was up to during Frosh week!

The Innovation Hub welcomed students back on campus with an exciting first week of the Fall semester. The Hub engaged with enthusiastic students through Frosh events, Club Expo and FED Fair. During these events, students had the chance to hear about the exciting work and opportunities the Innovation Hub has to offer, as they gear up for a new academic year.

Frosh Events

Incoming students to the Sprott School of Business participated in events with the Innovation Hub which included a Case Crack and the Nicol Building Hustle. Although the Innovation Hub is open to students from all faculties, it was highlighted in Sprosh since many students in Business take interest in entrepreneurship. The Case Crack, hosted by the Innovation Hub and Sprott Business Students’ Society, had students take part in a collaborative problem-solving activity with CheapNite, a startup business run by Carleton student founders and Hatch alumni, Jake Ayre and Luke Meadus. During the Nicol Building Hustle, students had the chance to stop by the Innovation Hub, learn about our programs, and practice their entrepreneurial skills with a game where they pitched business ideas for a randomly chosen industry.

Club Expo and FED Fair

On Tuesday, the Innovation Hub set up tables at Club Expo and the Faculty of Engineering and Design (FED) Fair to get the word out to interested students about our programs and events. Thank you to the many curious students who took the time to get to know us and learn how we provide support to student entrepreneurs at Carleton.
