Are You The Next ISSO Volunteer?
The International Student Services Office (ISSO) is recruiting student volunteers to help us welcome and support Global Ravens at Carleton University. If you are interested in helping students, meeting new people, and getting involved, we encourage you to apply! During your time as a volunteer you will benefit from peer-to-peer support, community, networking, CCR credit – employment outcomes, graduate school applications etc.
Volunteers provide assistance at various times of year and with different tasks. The time commitment and activities you participate in depends on you!
- Summer Volunteers: help the ISSO during the summer months.
- Commitment: June 3 to August 30, 2024
- 3 Hours or less per month. Volunteers will be emailed as opportunity arise
- International Orientation Volunteer: welcome students from August 30 to September 6
- Commitment: Fall 2024 orientation – August 5 to Sept 6
- Commitment: Winter 2025 – TBD
- We need as much help as you can offer
- Academic Year Volunteer: support ISSO events and workshops from September to April
- Commitment: Sept 9, 2024 to April 11, 2025
- 5 Hours a month or less
- International Student Ambassador: help International Admissions and Recruitment any time
- Commitment: Start as soon as you are able, until April 11, 2025
- International Recruitment and Admissions will reach out when they need support
Application Timeline
- Applications close on Friday, April 5, 2024 at 11:59 pm EDT.
- The selection committee will be in touch with next steps on Friday, April 12.

Important Details
- Mandatory, online training will be provided to all volunteers.
- In person training as required
- All volunteers must be in good academic standing and provide a clean vulnerable sector Police Record Check, which costs approximately $20. Click the link to submit your PRC form. Feel free to notify us of your submission at ISSO@carleton.ca
- International student Volunteers are encouraged to apply
