What is this service?

This service is a collection of core IT services to facilitate “bringing on board” new faculty and staff arriving at Carleton.

How do I obtain this service?

The onboarding process is initiated by Human Resources upon hire of faculty and staff members. To complete the onboarding process, the new hire, his or her manager, or his or her department administrator will also contact his or her Faculty IT support representative, or the ITS Service Desk.

Desktop computer/Laptop Your Faculty or Department IT Support representative  Your departmental chair, director, or manager is responsible for provision and renewal of your desktop or laptop, if and as required.Upon joining Carleton, if a desktop or laptop is required and has not been provisioned, contact your department chair, director, or manager. They are also the contact when your desktop or laptop requires replacement.
Exchange email address and mailbox ITS This is automatically provisioned. Contact your faculty IT support representative or ITS, as required. See Related: Exchange (Faculty and Staff)
Alternative email address and mailbox If desired: your Faculty IT support representative  If desired, contact your faculty IT support representative.
Network drives ITS  This is automatically provisioned. Contact your faculty IT support representative or ITS, as required.
Additional Network drives (faculty-specific) Faculty of Science, Faculty of Engineering and Design This is manually provisioned in selected departments. Contact your faculty IT support representative, as required.
