Nathan Benson

Director of Strategy, University of Ottawa Refugee Hub

Nathan Benson is Director of Strategy, University of Ottawa Refugee Hub, providing leadership to the Hub’s research, policy and public interest litigation initiatives. He leads the Hub’s Refugee Law Research Team and co-leads the Refugee/Criminal Law Clinic at the University of Ottawa Faculty of Law. A lawyer by training, Nathan has also worked in senior strategy, communications and policy roles. His work aims to shape law and policy for the benefit of refugees and at-risk migrants through impactful research and advocacy. Nathan holds degrees in law and Political Science and is a former judicial law clerk at the Federal Court of Canada.
