Silent Reading Meet-up

Published on October 30, 2026

Time to read: 1 minutes

Have you heard of the silent reading movement? It seems to be popping up around the world; people meet up every month in a park or library or cafe to read together. They aren’t necessarily reading the same books, just a book. No cellphones. No technology. Just silent reading together apart. What do you think? Do you want to start something like this in the LLRC? People could come with books that are in some way related to the language they’re studying; either a book in that language, a travelogue about/by someone who is traveling in that country, a book by an author from that country (in original or translation), or other.  Let us know below (a) if you’re interested and (b) which times work best for you.
