Get Involved
Here in the LLRC we value the idea of activities that encourage language learning outside the classroom. Got ideas? Want to get involved? Get in touch! You may even qualify for credit through the CCR Program.

Carleton has a program for keeping track of the volunteer experiences you participate in at the university. It’s called the Co-Curricular Record (CCR) and you can learn more about here. And we mention it here because, if you have ideas for CCR-linked events that we can run right here in the LLRC, we want to hear about them! Message us and we can work together to try and make it a reality. In the past we have hosted Korean Study Groups, Chinese character writing sessions, Russian movie nights, and more. For the Fall semester, we are looking for volunteers to create and run activities like:
- Language study groups (this kind of group can be run by someone who is studying the particular language…and not necessarily someone who is fluent)
- Language conversation groups (generally run by someone with native or near-native fluency)
- Board game night(s) in a specific language (how about Settlers of Catan in German?)
- and more…
Got questions or ideas, drop us a line!
