Research Project Outline

HQP will be assigned to a team working on a specific set of research questions in consultation with one of the industry partners, under the supervision of a faculty partner. HQP will participate in the design and conduct of the research, as well as analyzing and reporting on results, supervised and mentored by the faculty and industry partners. Regular communications will be maintained between the HQPs and supervisors, including emails and bi-weekly meetings, with regular communications with the industry partners maintained through emails and tri-annual progress presentations.

The research will be led by the PI, the co-applicants, and one PhD student. Two to five Master’s students will be involved in each research focus and will contribute to the research and dissemination activities. The progress indicators identified for this research include peer-reviewed journal publications, conference papers and presentations, and stakeholder meetings involving the research team and the industry partners. The progress indicators are expected to occur throughout phases of the research project as site recording and experimental testing phases are completed, and throughout the computational phases of activity.
