Review Eligibility Criteria
Each award has individual eligibility criteria. Be sure to review all the information that is available for each award.
Mark Your Calendar
It is easy to loose track of application deadline dates, particularly if you plan to apply for more than one. Take a few minutes to mark the deadline for each award in your calendar. Pro Tip: Add “mini deadlines” for yourself to complete the different parts of your applications so that when you get to the final deadline all you have to do is compile and submit.
Double Check Applications Requirements
Applications for some awards may include additional components, such as a letter of reference or personal statement. Be sure that your applications includes all the necessary parts (incomplete applications cannot be considered). Pro Tip: For applications that include supporting documents take the time to review what the award represents, for example: involvement in the community. Be sure to represent how you meet those criteria (in your supporting documents).
