Hashmat Khan

Associate Vice-President (Academic Programs and Strategic Initiatives)

Since joining Carleton in 2005, Hashmat Khan has served as Chair and Professor in the Department of Economics along with Co-Director of the Centre for Monetary and Financial Economics.

He has held visiting professorships at the University of California, Berkeley, Vancouver School of Economics at the University of British Columbia, and the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco. Hashmat’s research interests focus on macroeconomics with expertise in nominal and real frictions, dynamic stochastic general equilibrium (DSGE) models and business cycles. Khan completed his undergraduate studies at, Shri Ram College of Commerce, holds an MA from the Delhi School of Economics and a PhD from the University of British Columbia.
