Howard Nemiroff

Dean, Sprott School of Business
Howard Nemiroff is the Dean of the Sprott School of Business at Carleton University.
Howard has led the Faculty through a successful Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) re-accreditation process, supported the development of a new Bachelor of Accounting degree that will launch in Fall 2025, and expanded program offerings across undergraduate and graduate levels.
He previously served as the Associate Dean, Faculty Affairs, in the Sprott School of Business after having served as Sprott’s Associate Dean, Undergraduate Studies for 10 years, where he led continuous improvement initiatives for Sprott’s undergraduate programs and served as the chair of the Senate Committee on Curriculum, Admission, and Studies Policy (SCCASP).
Howard is the Academic Director of the Sprott Student Investment Fund and has taught an assortment of Undergraduate and MBA courses in investments, portfolio management and derivatives at three universities prior to Carleton (Saint Mary’s University, Brock University, Long Island University). He holds a BA (Economics) from Western Ontario, an MA (Economics) from Concordia and a Ph.D. (Finance) from Concordia.
