Jane van den Dries is the Assistant Director, Academic Initiatives and Operations. Prior to taking on this role, Jane was the Manager, Strategic Communications, in the Office of the Provost for four years.
Prior to joining Carleton, Jane worked in marketing and communications at the Goodman School of Business at Brock University. During her time at Brock, she held a variety of other roles, in areas including international exchanges, accreditations and academic advising. She has also freelanced as a copyeditor alongside several business professors to prepare their academic manuscripts for journal submission.
A strong believer in professional development and continuing education, Jane has completed many workshops at Carleton and is working towards Carleton’s Student Support Certificate. She is a proud member of the Carleton Leader community since completing the program (level 2) in 2019. She has served as a guest speaker in an upper year marketing case analysis course, as a guest facilitator for the Office of Quality Initiatives, and as a presenter at Carleton’s SOAR Leadership Conference. During Jane’s undergraduate degree, she participated in several case competitions, an international exchange in Gothenburg, Sweden, and the unique short-term Spoken English Promotion Project at Zhejiang Gongshang University in Hangzhou, China.
Jane holds an Honours Bachelor of Business Administration (Co-op) from Brock University and is currently working towards the MA in Applied Linguistics and Discourse Studies at Carleton on a part-time basis.
