Brief description of what I do!
I work at Riverstone Retirement as a Marketing Manager. My role combines relationship building, creativity, event planning and strategic marketing to help seniors and their families find the right community to call home.
What inspired your career path after graduation?
I had such an impactful relationship with my grandparents. Those lasting memories helped me realize that I wanted a career where I was making a positive difference within the senior population.
How did your experience in the psychology program shape your journey?
My experience in the psychology program taught me patience, perseverance and hard work truly pay off. To be open to constructive criticism and to value other’s opinions. I carry these lessons and apply them to my life.
What skills or experiences were most valuable after graduation?
After graduation, I finessed many skills such as problem solving, critical thinking and being confident in my own decision making abilities. My degree was truly the foundation in order to improve this skill set.
Are there specific Psychology courses, professors, or experiences that stood out during your time at Carleton?
I thoroughly enjoyed my classes with Professor Guy Lacroix and Professor Jim Davies. They made the content so fascinating and engaging.
What has been a highlight or proud moment in your career so far?
It is always a proud moment when my job helps improve someone’s quality of life! I enjoy seeing someone move in and slowly seeing the joy return to them. To know that I played a part in this process is truly satisfying and rewarding for me.
