Joan_DeBardeleben high res The Centre for European Studies (CES) and the Institute for European, Russian and Eurasian Studies (EURUS) are pleased to announce that Professor Joan DeBardeleben has been awarded Carleton University’s Building Connections Award 2013. We are very happy for Dr. DeBardeleben as her hard and dedicated work deserves this high recognition. As the Delegation of the European Union to Canada, who was one of the supporters of the nomination, also stated:

Over the years, we have seen that the networking and outreach efforts of the Canadian EU Centres of Excellence have demonstrably increased the visibility of Carleton University as well as information sharing about EU affairs throughout Canada.”

This is a great honour as talented scholars and research teams from across all Carleton departments competed for this prestigious award that is given for exceptional efforts and a sustained impact through any (singly or in combination) of the following:

  • building relationships that enable Carleton to have a visible and significant presence on issues of global relevance and importance.
