Her present research projects and applications include the design and development of advanced aircraft structures providing quieter solutions, experimental aerospace acoustics using bio-inspired concepts, laboratory reproduction of turbulent-flow-excited structures’ acoustical response and investigation of human voice production and phonation with surgical applications.

Recently, Dr. Rocha’s work with cabin noise was featured in a Globe & Mail Aerospace supplement called Leadership in Aerospace. The article outlining her advanced research can be found on page three in an article called Carleton University research aims to reduce aircraft fuselage noise
