To set up your Carleton Email in Outlook for Windows:

  1. Launch Outlook
    • Open Outlook from the Start menu or desktop shortcut.
    • If it’s the first time opening Outlook, a welcome screen will appear. Click Next.
  2. Add Account
    • Select Yes when asked to set up Outlook with an email account.
    • Click Next to proceed.
  3. Enter Email Details
    • Type your full email address.
      • Students:  MC1username@cmail.carleton.ca
      • Staff:  MC1username@cunet.carleton.ca
    • Click Connect.
  4. Autodiscover Process
    • Outlook will attempt to automatically detect server settings using Autodiscover.
    • If successful, a password prompt will appear. Enter the password and click OK.
  5. MFA Authentication
    • You will be prompted to authenticate using your configured method.
  6. Confirmation
    • After successful authentication, Outlook will display a message:
      “Congratulations! Your email account was successfully configured and is ready to use.”
    • Click Finish.
